Trees for Suffield

The Suffield Tree Committee, the Town of Suffield, and the Suffield Garden Club working together have established the Trees for Suffield Initiative. This initiative is a way to provide residents a tree canopy for generations to come.

We Invite You to Join Us! Trees for Suffield is partnering with Town organizations and interested residents to bring you a series of events throughout the year to raise awareness of the benefits trees provide. We will have educational and creative writing workshops, tree plantings and other special events.

We Need Trees. Trees give us oxygen, store carbon, stabilize soil, and provide a wildlife habitat. Trees enrich our environment, provide shelter, reduce stress, lower energy bills and mitigate climate change.

Help Us Grow. We are accepting donations to our capital campaign through the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. Your contribution will help us reach our campaign goal of $100,000. 10-Year Tree Planting Plan

Through a grant made possible by the Amiel and Mary Anne Zak Public Service Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, the Suffield Garden Club partnered with Land Canvas Landscape Architecture to create a 10-Year Tree Planting Plan for use by the Suffield Tree Committee. The plan has been reviewed and endorsed by the Town, CTDOT, the Scenic Roadway Commission, and Eversource.

Tree Inventory

Through a grant made possible by the Suffield Greater Together Community Fund at the Hartford Foundation, the Suffield Garden Club partnered with SavATree to update the Inventory of Main Street Trees in 2021 for use by the Town Tree Warden and the Suffield Tree Committee.
