Suffield Repair Cafe Sat., June 28th, 2025 10 am - 2 pm Suffield Senior Ctr,145 Bridge St.
On March 29th – Fixers available to sharpen tools and repair bicycles, electrical appliances, clothing and woodworking.
What is a Repair Cafe?
Repair Cafes prolong the life of fixable household items, keep them from clogging landfills and help you save money. You’ll find skilled repair volunteers with tools to help fix your broken items.
Repairs are free, except for necessary parts you may need to buy, but donations to cover Cafe costs are appreciated.
What to expect
When you arrive, we’ll ask you to complete a form detailing what needs fixing. The form also includes a waiver you must sign releasing Sustainable Suffield and your fixer from claims. Items you offer for repair are at your own risk.
You will be assigned a fixer on a first-come, first-served basis. Bring any spare parts or manuals you have for items that need fixing. If you’ve already attempted repairs, please tell the fixers.
ixers repair one item per customer at a time. If you bring more than one item, you’ll return to the queue after your first repair. Plan to stay at the fixing station until your repair is completed. Fixers may refuse to repair your item and are not responsible for reassembling it if it can’t be repaired.
The Suffield Repair Cafe is comprised entirely of volunteers. Please treat them respectfully. We can’t guarantee that your item can be repaired. If you need a part that’s not readily available, you can buy the part and visit a future Cafe for the repair.
Dos and Don’ts You must be able to carry in an item needing repair and carry it out if it’s not repairable. Gas engines are not allowed. If your fixable item needs gluing, consider coming early to allow for drying time. We’ll list the fixers available for upcoming repair cafes on our Facebook and website pages.
